Madison Providence Covenant Relationship:

In 1999 under the leadership of Co-Pastors Samuel Reeves and Dave Beelen, Madison was blessed to start a Sister Church relationship with Providence Baptist Church in Monrovia, Liberia. This relationship flourished while Pastor Sam ministered here at Madison and even 14 years after his return to Liberia in 2004, this Sister Church relationship continues.
Below are the commitments, objectives and the fruit of the Madison Providence covenant relationship.
Commitments Madison and Providence made to each other:
- To remember and pray for our churches corporately on the 5th Sundays of the year
- To send delegates representing various areas of ministry, (alternating every other year, thus creating delegate visits yearly, either at Madison or Providence)
- To work to build unity across denominational, cultural and geographic boundaries
- To create environments for mutual sharing of ministry resources, best practices and ideas
Objectives for the church to church visits:
- Build & maintain relationship between Providence & Madison
- Cross-cultural learning for members of both churches
- Ministry growth and increased effectiveness for both churches
- Opening doors of ministry opportunities for various congregants and the churches
- Creation of business & ministry opportunities
Some of the fruit of this Sister Church relationship:
- Providence Baptist Church dance ministry
- Ubuntu Drum Circle – lead by Eric Nykamp
- The Freedom In Christ ministry of Liberia
- More African Americans interested in learning about W. Africa and global ministry possibilities
- Madison Square has become church home (away from home) for Liberians and other Africans from the various countries on the continent
- LEAD [Liberia Entrepreneurial & Asset Development]
